Kvarsebo
Development plan

About the project

In Kvarsebo there is a strong association life, a large local engagement, and good conditions for continued development. To strengthen Kvarsebo's long-term attractiveness and meet future needs, residents, associations, and businesses have jointly developed a development plan for Kvarsebo.

The development plan has identified five central focus areas: Attractiveness, School, Housing, Service, and Communication. For each area, working groups have been formed to drive the development issues forward. The coordinating body has been the village council, which serves as a common meeting place for the community's associations, activities, and engaged residents.

Within this project, some of the needs that are crucial for Kvarsebo's continued development will be realized. An important issue is to ensure and strengthen the local, volunteer-driven school for grades F–6. The school is a central prerequisite for families with children to be able to stay and for new families to choose to move to the area. To retain and attract more students, the school's conditions and operational environment need to be developed.

Another identified need is to improve local services. The delivery point for goods from supermarkets and other suppliers plays an important role for residents in the area but needs to be developed to become more environmentally friendly while also achieving lower operating costs. An improved solution can contribute to both increased service and a more sustainable everyday life for Kvarsebo's residents.

Communication and digital visibility are another important development area. Information about Kvarsebo and everything the community has to offer needs to become more accessible and reach more target groups. Through improved communication and marketing, more people can discover Kvarsebo as an attractive place to visit, live, and work. Increased visibility is important both to attract new residents and businesses as well as to create good conditions for the elderly to be able to stay in the community.

Project's purpose and goals

The overall purpose of the project is to strengthen Kvarsebo's long-term viability by developing important functions within school, service, and communication. Through collaboration between residents, associations, and businesses, the project aims to make Kvarsebo even more attractive for today's residents as well as for future generations. The project's goals are:

  • The school will be equipped with rain protection, awnings, and storage for strollers.
  • Solar panels and batteries will be installed at the delivery point to reduce energy consumption and secure power supply to cold rooms, freezers, and locks against power outages.
  • A new shared and locally managed digital platform will be built and put into use for the exchange and dissemination of information internally and externally.
