Does your idea fit our area and development strategy?
To see if an idea can be financed with support from Kustlandet, we need to check if it contributes to the goals in our development strategy and where the benefit lies.
Geography
The result and benefit of the project idea should be in our area. Kustlandet's area extends along the east coast and the municipalities of Norrköping, Söderköping, Valdemarsvik, Västervik, Oskarshamn, and Mönsterås.
The Leader method
Leader is a method for rural development that is based on local initiatives, local conditions, and cooperation. The idea should have local anchoring, be innovative and long-term. Strong engagement and voluntary efforts complement the financial support.. If the project idea aligns with much of this, or can be adapted to it, it can become a leader project.
Focus areas
The idea must fit Kustlandet's development strategy and focus areas. The strategy has four focus areas:
- Culture, sports, leisure, and culture
- Housing, infrastructure, and communications
- Business and employment
- Climate and environment
The project idea can involve one or more focus areas.
We also look at whether the initiative is a project where the benefit accrues to many or if the benefit is primarily for a few or mainly for an organization. This determines how much support you can apply for.
A few final checkpoints
There are a few final points that we would like projects to keep in mind. Consider how the project idea relates to the following points.
- Climate and sustainability
- Equal treatment and accessibility
- Gender equality and equity
It is also good to know that support is granted in project form where it is clearly defined in time, activities, and from regular operations. Kustlandet does not grant support over 2.5 million kronor, and normally the projects are significantly smaller. However, it is not the size that is decisive but how significant the results are in relation to the cost.
