Service house
on Aspöja

About the project

Stora Stångklabben AB has been active in the tourism industry in Sankt Anna archipelago since 2011. The business started with fish farming and personal and material transport, but has since developed to include a conference and cabin facility on Aspöja – Kloka Gubben. The facility, which is named after a historical stormwater source on the site, today consists of a main building, two cabins, a sauna, and a storage house. It is modernly equipped and operates year-round.

The demand has been high, and the facility has welcomed everything from conference guests to vacationing individuals, guest workers, and bird hunters. To meet the increased interest and further improve service, Stora Stångklabben AB will convert an existing building on the property into an accessibility-adapted service house. The building already has approved water and sewage as well as building permits, which allows for an efficient transformation.

The project aims to diversify the business, strengthen the company's long-term sustainability, and create conditions for increased revenue and more jobs. Additionally, the goal is to make the service house accessible to other entrepreneurs and visitors on Aspöja, as space allows, which strengthens collaboration within the island's business and community life.

Through this initiative, Stora Stångklabben AB continues to contribute to a vibrant, sustainable, and accessible archipelago in Sankt Anna – year-round.

Project goals

The project's goal is a service house with accessibility-adapted WC, shower, laundry, drying, and dishwashing facilities, a new service facility that enables increased capacity and better service for guests, campers, and boat or kayak visitors.
