Self-catering kitchen for
increased occupancy at Brevik

About the project

The Brevik Foundation runs a course and camp facility where they organize ssummer camps for children and youth and activities for external groups such as schools, associations, and congregations. With long experience in offering conferences, camps, and high-altitude activities, the foundation works to create inclusive and memorable meeting places year-round. The Brevik Foundation now wants to develop its operations by building a new self-catering kitchen with an associated dining room and deck to meet the demand for accommodation with self-catering options. This means they can offer accommodation to self-catering groups, such as associations, congregations, and smaller groups seeking an affordable and nature-close stay. The aim is to meet the demand for more flexible and cost-effective options while creating a long-term sustainable operation.

A new facility adapted for self-catering allows the operation to grow from about 12 to 25 groups per year. With the new kitchen, dining room, and deck, the Brevik Foundation can offer an attractive and functional solution that responds to both the demand from new customer groups and the need for economic stability – while the project strengthens the tourism industry in the area.

Project goals

The goal of the project is to establish a well-functioning and practically designed self-catering kitchen, complemented by an outdoor area for cooking and community. During the project's course, contact will be established with both current and new customer groups to inform them about the new opportunities for self-catering at Brevik. A clear and attractive customer offering will be developed in time for the launch. In the long term, the investment should contribute to creating new jobs and securing existing services within the operation.
