WSK Arholmen's new dock

About the project

Waldemarsvik Sailing Club (WSK) will within the project build a new dock at the club island Arholmen. The purpose is to improve accessibility, safety, and functionality for racing, sailing camps, and general boating life.

The current dock, originating from the 1950s, has limited capacity and does not meet today's demands. The new facility will be extended to accommodate more and deeper boats, equipped with a ”skirt” for dinghies, and furnished with benches, better lighting, railings, and rescue ladders.

The project aims to provide better conditions for the club's growing activities, especially youth activities. In 2023, 27 young people participated in the sailing camp and 29 boats in the club's races. The goal is to continue to grow while offering a safe environment for everyone – from young to older members.

Arholmen is strategically located near the fairway outside Valdemarsvik and has become a popular spot for passing boat guests – who are always welcome to dock free of charge.

The new dock strengthens the club's role as a gathering place for sailing, community, and intergenerational boating life.
