Apply for support

To ensure you are on the right track, you should always start by contacting us at the leader office. We at the office will make an initial assessment of whether the project meets the basic requirements for leader support. Read more under the tab ”Test your idea”. The formal application is made in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service, but we at the office will help you prepare a draft for the application. The draft is based on the questions you will need to answer in the e-service. The draft is then presented to our board during a preparation meeting. The board will then make an initial assessment of whether the project fits our strategy and selection criteria. Based on the feedback you receive from the board, you can refine the application further before you formally register it.

Only associations, companies, and organizations can apply for support. For you to be able to register an application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service, the person who will be responsible for this must have a power of attorney. Your application for a power of attorney should be sent to the address specified on the form. It takes about a week to have the power of attorney processed.

Once the power of attorney is processed, you can start registering your application. You can access the e-service for applications via My Pages on the Swedish Board of Agriculture's website. You as the power of attorney can now log in with BankID. When you choose that you represent ”A customer, my company, someone else” you will see the organization for which you have power of attorney and can click further. If you as the applicant are a sole proprietorship, you should choose that you represent ”Myself.” To access the service for registering an application, you should make the following selections in the menu on the left.

Then start the service and select ”New application for support”

Check that the application concerns ”New application for leader support 2023-2027” and that you have confirmed with the leader office that you have chosen the correct option.

Now you can follow the draft of the application, which you have developed in dialogue with the office, so that you make the right choices and can copy over the text sections.

For the application to be complete, you need to attach:

• A budget template.
  You should also attach quotes or other cost documentation that shows how you arrived at the budget you have included.
• A liquidity certificate.
  This can be a bank statement, balance sheet, or loan promise that shows that you have sufficient liquidity to carry out the project. Sufficient liquidity is at least 20% of the requested support. The reason you must prove liquidity is that the support is paid out afterward when you report the expenses.

When the application is submitted in the e-service, we see it and can begin our processing. We will get back to you if we see that something needs to be supplemented or clarified. Your application needs to be complete at least two weeks before a board meeting for it to be considered for a decision.

The board can approve or reject the application based on how well the application aligns with our strategy, focus areas, and selection criteria. If the board approves the application, the Swedish Board of Agriculture must formally approve the project. Receiving a formal decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture takes about 3-5 months. You can start the project before you have the formal decision, but you do so at your own risk.
