Local Life News with a local focus
About the project
Within the project, Media Trio AB wants to improve the service for residents in Valdemarsvik municipality through a new digital news site with a local focus. The company sees that there is a need for local news reporting from rural areas as the large media companies focus too much on the larger cities. The distributions in rural areas outside urban centers are also being reduced. By creating an internet-based news site focused on reporting from Valdemarsvik municipality, they want to be a strong counterweight to the larger media companies. On the news site, they will frequently publish articles about what is happening in Valdemarsvik municipality. There will be articles with news in various subject areas that reflect society at large and small, including elements of investigative journalism. The news site will be free of charge for readers.
The news portal will also have an event calendar where organizers can post events free of charge. They will also involve the local association life, which can write about their activities and publish their events. The initiative contributes to broadening the company's operations and strengthening and future-proofing the company. Within the project, the new digital news site will be built up in preparation for launch.
