Bottna Bygdegård-activity house year round
About the project
Bottna bygdegård serves as a hub in the community and is an important gathering place. The community center is jointly managed by the Local Heritage Association Vikingarna and the Sports Association IK Österviking. The venue is used for meetings, study circles, parent groups, and social and information meetings, among other things. IK Österviking organizes football training and matches for all age groups as well as training and competitions in archery. During these occasions, they utilize the changing and shower facilities available in the community center. The Local Heritage Association now wants to expand the use of the facilities and increase the number of events year round. Currently, the facilities are heated with direct electric heating, which has forced them to lower the temperature during the winter months to avoid high operating costs. This has meant they have been unable to use the facilities during the cold months. To be able to operate year round and increase the number of activities, they need an energy-efficient electricity supply. Therefore, within the project, they will install solar panels for electricity supply, the capacity of which will be sufficient for the operation of the community center.
Project goals
The overarching goal is an energy-efficient gathering place for activities year round in Bottna. The project contributes to creating conditions for economic sustainability and ensuring the future operation of the facilities. The increased utilization will contribute to more events, recreational activities, and more visitors.
