Hjort Mountain

Hjortberget Ski Club has the ambition to further develop the recreational area around Hjortberget in Oskarshamn, so that the facility can be used year-round by several associations, individual exercisers, and hikers. Hjortberget is located in beautiful nature and the vision is that the place can be made even more beloved and vibrant year-round. The place Hjortberget has a unique location with its central placement in Oskarshamn, making it easy to access the facility. The association has developed a vision together with the Outdoor Association in Oskarshamn where they strive to increase the number of visitors and users to 100,000/year.  

To make the area a place that can be used for many different recreational activities and associations, the ski club will build an accessibility-adapted multi-association house. The facilities are needed as a base for expanding activities with social areas, meeting rooms, and services for visitors such as toilets and a kiosk. During various events and training sessions, the new facilities can be used for association work, course activities, and reception and service purposes.

Project goals

The overarching goal is to create a foundation for the further development of outdoor activities by building an accessibility-adapted multi-association house for year-round activities at Hjortberget.

The project's quantitative goals:

• A new accessibility-adapted multi-association house at Hjortberget of approximately 280 m2 ready to be put into use with operational spaces, storage, meeting rooms, a kiosk, and toilets. 
• A new service for the public.
• 1 new network of associations that want to collaborate on the development of Hjortberget.
• A plan regarding future maintenance and financing exists.

The project's qualitative goals:

• Long-term foundation for the development of Hjortberget according to the vision.
• Better standards and expanded services at Hjortberget that can be used year-round.
• Better accessibility, to and at Hjortberget.
• Increased attractiveness that attracts more visitors from near and far.
• Better conditions for the further development of associations in Oskarshamn's activities.
