Rönö Community Association is a non-profit organization in Vikbolandet, Norrköping municipality. The association manages Rönö Community Center, Rönö Heritage Center Segerbo, and the parish's other cultural heritage and conducts community-promoting activities in the village.
The association and its members are very active, a total of about 80 activities were organized in 2022 for a total of 3,114 people. Among other things, heritage walks, building preservation projects, cultural events, and information efforts in first aid and crisis preparedness as well as traditional midsummer celebrations are arranged.
The village's association life (in recent years Rönö Community Association) has, for 99 years, through a lease agreement, operated and managed the celebration site at Skälläng in Rönö. It is there that the cozy midsummer celebration has been organized as well as various children's activities such as theater and magic performances. However, in the fall of 2022, the landowner terminated the agreement with the community association regarding Skälläng's celebration site.
Since it is very important for the village to have a meeting and celebration place, the association began the work of finding a new location. They also wanted the new place to accommodate more activities, be accessible, and be usable throughout the year. The association was offered several locations but chose to purchase 3 hectares of land directly west of their own heritage center Segerbo.
Within the project, the new celebration site, Rönö Celebration Site, will be built. They will reuse some old buildings from Skälläng to retain the historic feel and combine it with new ones. The buildings will be equipped with modern solutions for electricity, water, and sanitary facilities, as well as be made accessible. In connection with the celebration site, parking spaces will also be established.
Rönö Celebration Site will be adapted to enable the development of new activities and enhance old ones. It will be usable for various types of new events such as Christmas markets, theater performances, concerts, and outdoor cinema as well as the traditional midsummer celebration.
The ambition is that Rönö Community Association will eventually be able to offer a wide range of activities and events at Rönö celebration site and the adjacent heritage center Segerbo. Through a purposefully designed celebration site that allows for a broadened range of activities, the association's economy will be strengthened and sustainability increased.
