Sandviken

The football club Krokeks IF has two facilities in Krokek, one called Kullevi where youth aged 5-14 gather and the other in the area Sandviken where youth from 15 years and up gather. The reason for this is that the club originally only had Sandviken but as the club and the locality grew, more spaces were needed and in the 1990s, the area Kullevi was also acquired. The community has since grown even more and continues to be a planned growth area with up to a hundred residents in the coming years. Sandviken has over the past 10 years become an extremely important area for the club where, among other things, a football tournament for children aged 10-13 is organized every year in August. In the last 4-5 years, the football tournament has had about 85-95 teams present with around 1200 youth, both boys and girls.

The activities at Sandviken and the summer cup held there are an important part of the club's operations and enable much else within the club. The facility's building, which was constructed in the 1950s and 60s, is however in poor condition and the ground has settled. Particularly the girls' teams have been affected by the poor conditions as there have not always been enough changing rooms. To secure and improve today's operations as well as lay the foundation for further development of the club, new premises are needed. The club has, in consultation with authorities, developed plans and drawings for a new building that includes changing rooms, showers, toilets, a referee room, a meeting room, a kitchenette, and a kiosk.

Project goals

The project's overall goal is a new building of 200 square meters, accessible according to the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's regulations. The building is intended for children's and youth teams, especially for girls' teams to encourage them to continue playing football for as long as possible, and it also makes it possible to increase the number of girls' teams. The building will include a changing room for home teams with associated showers and toilets, a changing room for away teams with associated showers and toilets, a referee room with two changing areas for women and men, a meeting room with a kitchenette, and a WC for visitors.
