Development of Skedshult disc golf course

About the project

The Skedshult disc golf association was founded in 2020 by young disc golf enthusiasts who wanted to create more recreational activities in the village. They then built a simpler course that has nevertheless been well visited over time.

Within the project, the association will now further develop the disc golf course to make it more attractive and inclusive for a broader target group. Disc golf is a sport that can be practiced by people with different physical abilities and experience levels. To get more people to try the sport, the association will create a beginner-friendly loop with shorter tees. They will also make improvements to the existing 18 holes to enhance the level of the playing experience to suit advanced players and competitions. They will improve the tee areas, set up hole signs, and a course map to make it easier to navigate around. The association also wants the areas around the disc golf course to become a pleasant destination, so places will be arranged for, among other things, sitting and eating a packed lunch.

The association will collaborate with the local community center association and develop a long-term plan for the maintenance and care of the course.

Project goals

The overall goal of the project is to create a well-functioning disc golf facility in Skedshult that suits both beginners and advanced players. The project will promote recreational activities, strengthen the community, and increase access to services in the area.

The goal is for the number of members in the association to increase and for more people to engage locally. They hope that the number of users of the course will increase by 1,500 people in the first year. The increased number of visitors is also seen as beneficial to other businesses in the area.
