Develop your
place in
The Coastal Land

Through Leader Coastal Land, you, your association, organization, or company can receive financial support to implement ideas that contribute to the area's development. Coastal Land's area stretches along the southern coast of Sweden, from Norrköping municipality in the north to Mönsterås municipality in the south.

What is the Leader method?

Local initiatives and local conditions

Leader is a method for rural development based on local initiatives, local conditions, and engagement. What needs to be developed in the area, you know best as you live and work there.

We are part of Leader Sweden!

Coastal Land is one of 40 leader areas in Sweden that drives development through the Leader method for sustainable attractive rural areas. To spread knowledge about Leader, Local Development Sweden (LUS) together with the Rural Network has produced a film. In the film, you will see examples of some of the projects that have been implemented in Sweden. Read more about Leader and get inspired by more projects being carried out around Sweden on Leader Sweden's website.

How can we help you?

Do you have a development idea and want to know more about Leader support?

Project implementers say:

”We were overwhelmed by the positive response the project received. We have broadened the association's network and reached out to the residents of the community.”

How it works

Get started

Everything starts with an idea! If you have an idea that you would like to develop, contact us and we will see if it can become a Leader project.

Write an application

The next step is to formulate an application to describe your idea. The application is developed with help and coaching from us at the office. If the Coastal Land board approves the project, the case is forwarded to the Swedish Board of Agriculture for approval.

Implement

If the application is approved, you can get started. Follow your project plan and contact the office if anything deviates. During implementation, you report your costs and receive the support paid out by the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

Conclude

When you have completed all activities in the project, it is time to finalize the report. We and others are curious to know if it went as planned.
